A Professor of Environmental Medicine, Ifran Rahman, led a study identifying that e-cigarettes are in fact detrimental to the health of gums. It was found that gum tissue was damaged at the molecular level. The study is the first of its kind to confirm so. This is a big problem for consumers because it has become a common misconception that e-cigs are a healthier substitute to smoking regular cigarettes when in fact they’re both considerably detrimental to health.
